ALTOSPAM management interface

by Altospam

E-mails received by a company contain spam and are likely to harbor several forms of cyber-attack, such as viruses, scams, denial of service, phishing, relaying, etc. To avoid time-consuming sorting and heavy investment in infrastructure, as well as the need for regular maintenance, OKTEY offers companies ALTOSPAM, an outsourced SaaS anti-spam and anti-virus software solution.

Summary of how ALTOSPAM works

After changing the MX fields in the company’s DNS, all e-mails will be rerouted to ALTOSPAM servers located in two highly secure, remote environments. Emails will pass through five anti-virus scanners, 16 anti-spam technologies and a detection system for suspicious attachments. Once sorted, legitimate mail is rerouted to the company’s mail server. Email filtering can be monitored in real time via an online administration tool.

What does the online administration interface contain?

The comprehensive online administration console enables the company administrator to regularly and quickly consult all the stages through which e-mails pass, from their entry on the ALTOSPAM servers to their arrival on the company’s mail server. It is divided into several modules.

Statistics show the percentage of spam and legitimate emails the company receives on its domain names each day or month. The number can be visualized using a histogram. Sorting can be done to display statistics for all domains, a particular domain or even a specific account.

logsasLogs show all company e-mails analyzed by ALTOSPAM filtering software. Several elements such as the date, the identifier, the reason for acceptance or refusal of each email, the email addresses of the sender and recipient as well as the subject of the message are mentioned in this module. A simple click on the identifier displays the complete source log of a message.

The Ranking will be used to identify the most spammed users, as well as those who receive the most legitimate emails. Thanks to this module, the administrator will be able to list the most polluted e-mail addresses.

A Technique page lets you check all managed domain configurations at a glance, and provides a simple overview of any configuration issues. This interface specifies the SPF and DKIM information to be used for MailOut outbound filtering.

The Queue gives you a centralized overview of current processes. This shows emails awaiting delivery both in the Altospam incoming flow filter and in the MailOut outgoing flow filter.

As the name implies, Configuration allows the administrator to configure the ALTOSPAM solution according to the company’s needs. It could, for example, generate a daily summary of emails rejected the previous day and send it to users. You can also set up your own white and black lists of e-mail addresses to accept or reject, even if they prove to be useless with the ALTOSPAM solution.

If necessary, theinterfaceasAdministrators can refuse to receive opt-out advertising that has not been blocked by the ALTOSPAM solution by visiting the Legal Advertising interface.

The management and administration interface for your ALTOSPAM account is constantly evolving, with new modules and functionalities being directly integrated. The availability check module for remote servers and direct access to raw logs have recently been added. In a few weeks’ time, for example, we’ll be bringing online the possibility of modifying the time difference to enable our customers in Overseas France and Africa to have a display in local time.
