Authenticate your outgoing emails for better deliverability

Automatic email signing with MailOut

ALTOSPAM offers the MailOut service as an option to its incoming e-mail filtering service, for filtering outgoing e-mail. The aim of ALTOSPAM MailOut is to certify that your company is not the source of virus propagation, to easily visualize outgoing mail flows, to inform your users in the event of transmission failure, and above all to increase the deliverability of your emails.

When it comes to email deliverability, we act on several fronts:
1. server configuration and ‘vision’ by destination servers: For this, servers are configured according to a very precise procedure, respecting the SMTP RFC and ensuring adequate ‘presentation’ of the server in the SMTP protocol sense to destination servers.
2. the reputation of the server and its IP address: We take great care to avoid being a vector for spam and viruses, and constantly monitor our servers so that we can act quickly in the event of blacklisting. We are also able, in the event of blacklisting and while waiting for the removal request to become effective, to temporarily and transparently route your traffic through another ALTOSPAM server.
3. Authentication of your emails: You can set up SPF to identify servers on the Internet that are likely to send emails on your domain’s behalf. We make it easy for you by providing you with optimized DNS rules. On the other hand, we can configure DKIM on all your domains to SIGN all your emails and further increase their deliverability.

Identification of sender servers via SPF
SPF should only be set up if you’re certain that all your e-mails transit via identified and known servers. Check, for example, that mobile users don’t use ISP SMTP servers, as this would be critical.
On the other hand, if all your emails transit through our MailOut servers, the setup is extremely simple, as you simply need to add the following TXT field to your domain: "v=spf1 ptr include:_spf.oktey.com ~all"

If other servers are identified as mail senders for your domain, they can be added to this field. For more information on SPF, visit https://www.altospam.com/glossaire/spf.php and http://www.openspf.org/.

Signing outgoing emails with DKIM
All outgoing emails passing through our MailOut servers can now be signed in compliance with RFC DKIM. To achieve this, an extremely simple procedure has been set up to sign all your emails transparently for you (installation by our teams in less than a minute). For your part, you need to distribute a public key via your DNS. All you need to do is add a TXT field to your domain, and we’ll provide you with its content.
DKIM is an authentication method that enables the recipient to be certain that the e-mails received come from a mail server recognized by the sender. Details of how it works can be found at https://www.altospam.com/glossaire/dkim.php and http://www.dkim.org/.

All these configurations make it easier for recipients to receive your users’ emails, and help combat spam and phishing.
